Our operations began in 1995 at Porter Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Its officers and members helped Dr. Michael A. Hayles, Sr. get CMCM started.

For 25 years, neighbors have shared their time, skills, and gifts to keep that work going.

CMCM was founded in 2001 to help people gain independence through education and empowerment.
Food helps meet a need today. Learning can help people take their next step.
CMCM’s work grew at Lone Star Community Center. It remains the home of our service center today.
Volunteers and supporters help us bring food, learning, and support to our neighbors.
H.O.N.O.R. Mentoring received the Texas Governor’s Volunteer Award for Service to Veterans.
Veterans used their skills to teach and mentor others. We carry that spirit of service forward.
Our work includes food distribution, education and empowerment, counseling connections, and H.O.N.O.R. programs.
KMEJ Radio and our academy projects give us more ways to share skills and useful information.
We are seeking land for a future place where people can live, learn, and rebuild.
