H.O.N.O.R. Mentoring Communities: Veterans Serving their Neighbors

“The process of inmates mentoring one another is as rehabilitative as the education itself.”

H.O.N.O.R. Mentoring gives incarcerated veterans effective opportunities to continue serving our country by mentoring and supporting their prison unit neighbors. This results in improved relations and a more positive culture for all who live or work in units.

Avenues for giving service provide the sense of purpose and usefulness that is often lacking as veterans return home from war and which becomes more pronounced in the restricted penitentiary environment.

Through servant-based leadership, an increase in camaraderie and positivity unit-wide leads to a more productive environment in which inmates can serve their time and be prepared to reintegrate back into society.

Objective 2: Veteran Reentry Services

H.O.N.O.R. TRAINING BASE
A Reentry Facility for Formerly Incarcerated Veterans

THE MISSION: Provide an environment where formerly incarcerated veterans can continue to receive support upon release that will help them with their reentry back into society.

Assisting veterans after incarceration with transitional housing, job skills, employment and counseling support to ensure mental health and stability, successful reentry and reduced recidivism. H.O.N.O.R. TRAINING BASE will be located in Montgomery County, Texas.
